Course Overview

This course explores methods of classification and techniques of visual recognition by using digital images of patterns in nature. Video examples included. 

This course is self-paced and must be completed within 90 days of the start date. The grade is pass/fail.

Prerequisites

·         None

System Requirements

·         Access to a computer connected to the Internet.

·         Windows 98, 2000, XP or higher or Mac OS 9 or higher.

·         Netscape 5.0 or later or Internet Explorer 5.0 or later.

·         Display minimum resolution 800x600 at 256 colors.

·         Sound Card.

·         DVD player.

At the beginning of the course, you will be assigned to an instructor. Throughout the course, you will be able to request assistance on all course-related issues from your instructor.

Course Materials

There is an additional charge of $65 for course materials and license fees related to the class.  After you have successfully registered for the course, the ASU Distance Learning Coordinator will send you an online packet of information containing access information and how to purchase the materials needed for the course.

Accessing the Course Materials

Go to the MyASU site (http://my.asu.edu) and log in using your ASUrite ID and password. The course(s) for which you are enrolled will now show up on your MyASU page. Click on the course title to see the materials for each course. All materials for the course are located in this course site. There are no other materials needed for the course.
