Course Overview

The course objective is to increase the teachers' understanding of effective teaching and learning strategies in the mathematics classroom. Students study on their own schedules using online, web-based materials.

This course is based on videos of classroom lessons (viewed via the internet) to stimulate reflection about various issues of teaching mathematics to elementary school children. Although enrolled students may work through the course materials at their own rate, they must set a goal of completion within the semester in which they registered. This is a Pass or Fail course.
