EDT 598 Understanding Teaching
Course Overview In this
course, the participants will use video clips from classroom lessons stored
on CD-ROM to stimulate reflection about various issues of teaching mathematics
to elementary school children. The lessons were designed to illustrate
the NCTM Professional Standards for Teaching (1991). Although enrolled
students may work through the course materials at their own rate, they
must set a goal of completion within the semester in which they registered.

Interested students must call the assigned instructor to discuss the appropriateness of the course and the bandwidth requirements for reception of the video for the course. To register for any iLearning course, call the ASU Distance Learning Coordinator Jennie Fleege at 480-965-6176. Access to this course will be available at http://my.asu.edu on the first day of the semester. Simply click on the "Courses" tab and search for "EDT 598."
